Come and meet current staff from Bristol University Archaeology and Anthropology...for now find out what one of their former students, Jack Fuller, has undertaken with his degrees in Archaeology

Jack Fuller (MPhil. BA hons. Archaeology)

Historic Environment Officer (Bath and NE Somerset)

Company: South West Heritage Trust

"I help look after the Historic Environment for the City of Bath and North East Somerset. The historic environment includes all archaeological and historical sites, from Prehistoric barrows and flint scatters to Second World War bunkers. All of these sites and their information is contained within the “Historic Environment Record” and it is my responsibility to curate, manage, and research this database of archaeological sites. This includes the recording of new discoveries and advising and sharing site information to heritage professionals, researchers, and the general public. Studying archaeology at the University of Bristol gave me the robust archaeological knowledge and research skills that I draw upon in my work, whether it is using aerial imagery to identify and map buried archaeological sites, or researching historical sources. The opportunities for practical work on excavations, surveys, and lab projects whilst at Bristol also gave me vital experience and the confidence to apply this knowledge, as well as the exciting chance to travel and learn skills abroad."
